Beer bike in downtown Austin

You bring the beer. Nobody pedals.

A beer bike in Austin is exactly what it sounds like — you and up to 15 people roll through downtown with your own cooler of beer while a sober driver does the work. Ours is fully electric, so nobody pedals. You bring the drinks, pick the music, and hang out. I’m Matt, and I’ve been driving this bike since 2018.

What is a beer bike, exactly?

It’s a big open-air bar on wheels you rent as a group. “Beer bike,” “party bike,” “pedal pub,” “bike bar” — same idea, different names. Ours is fully electric, with a motor and a real driver up front, so you never touch a pedal — you just sit back and enjoy the ride. And it’s BYOB: bring your own beer, seltzer, or wine (cans and plastic only, no glass or liquor). We don’t sell drinks, so there’s nothing marked up.

How much does a beer bike cost in Austin?

The whole bike is $275 Monday–Thursday and $375 Friday–Sunday — the entire bike for up to 15, not per person. Split across a full crew that’s about $18–25 a head. That covers the full 2 hr 15 min ride, your driver, the sound system, and coolers with ice. Most Austin beer bikes run $350–$449 for a private bike, so on weeknights you’re looking at the best price in town.

Who books the beer bike

For when the whole group being together is the point.

Bachelorette and bachelor parties are the bread and butter — it’s the rare activity where a dozen people actually hang out together instead of splitting up at a bar. Birthdays are big too, so are work outings and friends-in-town weekends. Book it when the group being together is the whole point.

Where the beer bike goes

Through the heart of downtown.

We roll through 6th Street, West 6th, and toward Rainey and 4th — with 2–3 bar stops along the way. We meet at 1108 Rose St, where street parking is easy (metered, always spots). You set the vibe; see the full route for the turn-by-turn.

If your plan is five bars in ninety minutes, this isn’t it — we cruise, and the ride itself is the party. But if you want your whole group in one spot, drinks flowing, music up, for two-plus hours, nothing beats it.
